Ardfert Camera Club Notes 8th September 2011.
The 2011/12 Camera Season has begun for Ardfert Camera Club and an exciting new season is in the offing. We hope to welcome new members and we will arrange workshops, outings and tutorials. I have posted the provisional meeting schedule on our website at ardfertcameraclub.weebly.com and this site will be update regularly over the coming season.
The theme for the first meeting is “10 Minutes from Home” and the theme for the following meeting is “Transport” and in October we have the first of our many Open competitions where a cash prize is on offer. The 10 best photographs at each meeting get points towards the Photographer of the Year. Last season the honour went to the editor of this venerable publication and second place to the writer of this piece.
A tip for taking good photographs is to use what is known as the rule of thirds. Break down your image into horizontal and vertical thirds so that your picture composed of 9 equal sections as shown below. Images that follow this rule tend to be the most pleasing to the eye. When taking landscape shots the most eye pleasing photographs have the horizon located on the third lines.
For further information contact Francis Foley on 087 905 4161 or [email protected] or visit our website at http://ardfertcameraclub.weebly.com. Remember that we always welcome new members and guests to the club which has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, no need to have a fancy camera, come along and learn how to take better pictures.
